Bulletproof and Chill

Posted on December 1, 2004

It feels like Winter today.

Finally.

On Monday, is was almost eighty degrees outside. Let me repeat that. Eighty degrees. On November 29th. Welcome to Winter in Texas.

But things were different this morning. The weather dropped forty degrees yesterday, and it feels like it dropped another twenty overnight. I had to scrape frost off of my car this morning. That’s tough to do with a rubber spatula. Still, I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Besides, it’ll probably be eighty again by Saturday.

So, it’s December. Winter may be here to stay. I woke up this morning with the idea for my Christmas Card Short Story fully formed in my head. Boom, it’s just there. What Stephen King describes as his muse shitting on his head. That story’s there. It’s ready. Tonight, I’ll sit down and write the living hell out of it.

I feel bulletproof.
