Bio and Contact

Nate Southard is moody, shy, lanky, bald, and has bad skin. When he isn’t writing, he’s probably cooking Thai food or fried chicken. Seriously, he has something like fifty fried chicken recipes. It’s ridiculous. He recently discovered coffee-flavored ice cream, and it’s ruling his entire world. Did you know if you mix it with chocolate ice cream, you can kinda make mocha ice cream? Nate does!

Nate lives in Austin, Texas.

He sucks at skateboarding.

  1. Hey, Nate. Can I call you that? Good, because I just did.

I just wanted to drop you a line and say I’ve really enjoyed the short fiction I’ve read of yours. I haven’t gotten to any novels yet, but I found you by picking up Datlow’s Supernatural Noir anthology a couple years back. Those are two of my favorite genres, so how could I not? I often grab anthologies like that to find me new authors, and you were definitely one of the standouts with “The Blisters On My Heart”. So I picked up a Kindle copy of “Will The Sun Ever Come Out Again” and was not disappointed in the slightest. It seems like that’s the only short story collection you have in ebook currently, so I’m trying to hunt up copies of the other two in your bibliography, and I’ll keep an eye out of Bad Dogs gets released. Charlie and his world were definitely intriguing, and I look forward to more of it.
